The City of Cerritos upholds a longstanding commitment to fiscal prudence and carefully crafts a budget to ensure financial stability and strategic investment in the City's future. The City is focused on evaluating and setting new priorities to a align with the community's immediate needs and long-term aspirations.
In alignment with the City Council's strategic goals, the budget directs financial resources to:
- Enhance Public Infrastructure and Community Aesthetics — focusing on long-term infrastructure maintenance to sustain the community’s pride and ensure durability.
- Boost Economic Growth and Prosperity — investing in economic development initiatives to expand the City's revenue base and promote sustainable growth.
- Enhance Effectiveness and Efficiencies of Public Safety Programs — continuing to refine public safety measures to ensure the safety of all residents.
- Increase Technology Infrastructure/Use — advancing the City’s technological capabilities to improve services and encourage innovation.
- Increase Fiscal Transparency — strengthening commitments to clear, accessible financial reporting and open community engagement.
Citizens are encouraged to participate in the budget process by making their views known at a pre-budget meeting held in June. Budget adoption typically occurs in June.
